These decorations were designed to feature animation and/or sound and light effects. Many collectors would think of these more as Halloween toys. They were removed from the boxes only for photography purposes. The condition of the boxes varies with item, but most are pretty good.

Box says, "Clap your hands or make any loud sound. The candles flash. The double doors open and a cloaked, vampire-like creature appears." The idea is that his eyes flash and you hear the sound of a gong, errie music and a scary voice says, 'I’m going to get you!' "Then laughter. 4 AA batteries req. (not included).

One of the cleverest items I’ve ever seen. The concept is that you open the cover or this book-like item and it resembles a door. You find a lively haunted house. As the door opens, it would make the sound of a creaking door and the original Monster Mash song by Bobby “Boris” Pickett begins playing. However, corresponding to the music would be blinking lights and dancing figures: a skeleton in the doorway and five creatures in the windows – 2 ghosts, a skull, bat, spider and pumpkin, all designed to move to the music! The house can also be removed from the box.

Real stirring action!” Requires 4 C batteries (not inc.). Three way switching action to have one or more features. Very clever item with all these features.

#88 DRACULA IN COFFIN by Funny Toys Year: 1990 Box Size: 15” L x 8” H Requires 2 “C” cell batteries (not inc.). Box info says, "Three position switch turns vampire off, on and on without sound. What an animation! Dracula is impeccably dressed and asleep in his coffin. The idea is that if you turn the “on” switch the coffin lid will open slowly as Dracula raises his head. Box info says, "Errie sound accompanies the Count as his green eyes flash. He sits up and suddenly the coffin closes as he lies down again."

I didn’t want to remove plastic cover to replace batteries, but I’ve heard it and it works well). Mounts easily on door. Eyes light up; you hear pounding on door and voice announces something like, “Enter if you dare.” Then laughter.

One of a series that was made. This animated child ghost is incredibly lifelike. Box says: “With moans and groans. He looks you in the eye, his bag held open, his lantern held high. A well-dressed ghost in a stylish sheet, he smiles and says, ‘Trick or treat!’” Req. 2 “C” alkaline batteries (not inc.) or AC adaptor (not inc.).

Package says, “Lights up and has errie sounds.” LED flasher eyes and sound chip. Says battery is replaceable, but doesn’t specify type. NOTE: After all this time battery needs replacing. I didn’t do this because it would mean breaking the plastic cover. Also, after all these years the main bat body needs to have its wings reglued.
