For the purposes of a Halloween display, I transformed this orange Firecracker 500 Race Car toy into a cool ghoul’s super vehicle.
Original toy: Firecracker 500 Race Car Ride-On by Empire of Carolina. Early 1970’s
Size: approx. 37 ½” L x 25 ¾” W The car features various decals and was apparently a ride-on toy, but does not operate now. Underneath there is a little rust on the metal bars. The “motor cover” cover is removable.
This skeleton driver, with an orange witch’s hat decorated with spider designs, is having a good time on the road. (Note: The skeleton and hat are included in the Pirate Ship Collection and are not included here. Details on this skeleton and the hat can be found in the posting PIRATE SHIP COLLECTION).
CUSTOMIZATION: Note the headlights. These round, orange lights are stick-on lights that can be added for customization and removed. These are not part of the original car, but the lights give the vehicle a nice touch and are included here. Each of the two lights require 3 AAA batteries (not inc.)
